Default Need advice to turn to Indian Insurance companies

    Hi,

I am new to this forum. I have experience in IT for US Life Insurance and health insurance for around 8 + years. But I have not done any certification related to Insurance yet. Now I want to turn myself from IT to Indian Insurance (As I have prior knowledge of it and like Insurance domaing). Can you guide me what all options will be available for me? My Interests more is towards Underwriting.

Please forgive me if added anything wrong, as I am new here.

    Regards,
    Ketaki

Why not start with IT Department in Insurance Company? And use your IT Experiance.

You need to start with insurance cources on www.insuranceinstituteofindia.com and then use the placement services by III.

    Hope this helps!

    Rahul,

Thanks for links provided. I have few questions though.

    1. As I am new here, can you help me to understand this in Layman terms? - What exactly is meant by Licentiate, Assosciate, Fellowship certifactions?
    2. If I have to appear for any exam/certificate, Is there any order, in which I should be appearing for it?

I liked your suggestion to start of with IT department of Insurance company. I will surely keep looking for what kind of opportunities are available.
