How to remove my name from CIBIL blacklist/defaulter's list?
I had a citibank credit card and there was a due of 50000 on it . I discussed with citibank and agreed with them and made a payment of Rs 40,000 to settle my Citibank credit card dues with a waiver of Rs 10,000 (interest). CIBIL’s records still reflect an outstanding of Rs 10,000.
- How should I get my name removed from CIBIL defaulter's list? In spite of obtaining a ‘No Due’ certificate from Citibank, other banks are refusing to sanction a home loan.

First check the latest CIBIL Credit Report and check if its the same problem (as mentioned by you above). If yes then you need to raise a dispute with them. Follow the link for complete procedure.

The amount which you paid was clearly for Settlement which is the account is still showing a balance of Rs.10,000/. To close the account and get a NDC letter you need to pay the remaining balance to Citibank.
After you make the payment, the bank will take approximately 45 - 60 days to get the status updated in the bureau. You need to check your report after the stipulated time. Also, in the meantime, please use your other credit card properly. If you have a loan make sure you making regular payments on it. This will help you to build you credit score side by side.

It is very important to remove the name of an individual from the CIBIL defaulters list of CIBIL. If a person defaults on a loan, then it is sure that his name will be mentioned in the CIBIL Defaulter’s List. Once an individual’s name is mentioned in the CIBIL Defaulter’s list
