Lightbulb What to do first in case of bike accident?

My bike is comprehensive insured with Reliance General and am just curious to know - What to do first in case of bike accident? I know that the insurance company will ‘never’ pay off the full amount for damages. They will find all sorts of reasons to deny the money.

Read the complete article on the auto claim steps – Link. The first thing you do is call customer care of the insurer and they will update you all the documents/ steps.

In case of Road Traffic Accident, the insurance company will not act if the following is not present -
    1) Initial Photos of the bike after accident within the accident radius
    2) FIR (First Information Report) and a case number from the Police
    3) Full Driving Licence of the driver
And after all of these are verified they will give you damages for iron, steel and plastics separately. For plastic and fibre parts you will get no claim. For iron and steel parts, you will get “some” percentage of the total cost as claim.

    Hope this will help!

The primary things that should be kept in mind just after you meet with an accident are
    1. Call your insurance company and let them know about the accidents.
    2. if no one comes from insurance company to take photogarph of the incident you can click some photographs on your own from difeerent angels.
    3. Take all the details of the person who hitted you bike like DL, insurance papers, Registration papers etc.
    4. report FIR as soon as possible.
    5. After all these you can consult your agent for futher proceedings.
    hope you get benefitted.

To make a claim against your two-wheeler insurance policy you need to do the following:
1- You will have to inform the insurer and get your bike inspected for damages.
2- Post that, your claim will be approved.
3- You can then get your bike repaired.
